How to determine which calling card is the best option?
Question by Mag n: How to determine which calling card is the best option?
I am in need of an “international” calling/phone card. I live in the US and will be using a cell phone and I will be calling a mexican cell phone number.
I have been looking online for a calling card that would give me a good rate, but there seems to be a ton of different ones to choose from. I understand there is a certain rate per minute, but what about connecting fee’s, and maintence fee’s. I have also looked at the store and it seems some, if not all of them have a expiration date? Is this true?
Anyways, how can I go about finding which calling card would suit my need. I obviously want one with a low rate, but I do not want a maitaining fee or connection fee.
Thanks for the help!

if you have metro PCS you can add calling to mexico for i believe $ 3 and internationally to about 50+ countries for $ 5
The variety of calling cards offered by most calling card providers are targetted at different people. For example, a calling card that charges a weekly maintenance fee and/or a connection fee will charge a lower rate. People placing long calls prefer these cards because they will use all the minutes with one call or two calls and therefore will get more minutes than they would if they bought the no fee/higher rate card.
Here’s a page that compares a few popular calling cards:

One other service you might be interested in if you plan to make long calls over a long period of time is an Unlimited plan. Some VoIP providers offer unlimited calls within the US and to other countries for a fixed monthly rate. For example Vonage has a $ 24.99 plan that includes unlimited calls to Mexico: http://www.vonage.com
I believe one of the best is the “Latin America” or “SonicoGreen”.
Find them and others in http://yourcallingcard.multipin.com/
From any country in the world you can use these cards. The rates are very low and is simple to use. Check how it works in “my source” (just below this post).
